Self Catering Holiday Cottage in Whitby
Stay in our traditional two bedroomed fisherman’s self catering holiday cottage in Whitby. Demeter Cottage (sleeps four people comfortably, six if using the sofa bed) and is located in a peaceful cobbled yard, just off bustling Church Street, in the heart of Whitby old town. It is just a stone’s throw from the beach, harbour, shops, restaurants and bars.
The holiday cottage is open all year around and is available for short breaks as well as full week lets. Demeter holiday cottage has been decorated and furnished to a high standard with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture.
It has an open aspect enjoying views over the rooftops towards the West Cliff in Whitby. All children, including babies, are very welcome, however , no equipment is provided, but parents are welcome to bring their own.
Please note, that as a traditional fisherman’s cottage, visitors must appreciate that there are some steps up to the holiday cottage and steep stairs within, so is unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems.
White Horse Yard is many centuries old , and the first stagecoach left Whitby for York in 1788. Captain Cook used to plan his voyages in ‘The White Horse and Griffin’; George Stephenson held meetings for investors in his railway and Charles Dickens ate lunch there.
