Metropole Holiday Apartments Whitby

Two luxury two-bedroom and one luxury one-bedroom self-catering apartments, located on Whitby’s West Cliff area facing the sea , affording guests some of the best views of Whitby and the sea.

The Metropole is a grand and imposing building with lots of original features, formerly a hotel dating back to 1897, it has been converted into luxury apartments boasting magnificent views across Whitby, from the Abbey and the harbour to the east and to Sandsend to the west.

All three apartments are finished to a high standard throughout and offer all the usual facilities that you would expect from a modern holiday apartment. All rooms are spacious and well equipped with the little extras for for your comfort and relaxation, all bed linen and towels are provided and a complimentary welcome pack is offered.
Apartments A & B have dedicated off road parking.

The Metropole bar on the ground floor is excellent, serving Sunday carvery all year and bar meals at other times during the summer months, also on the ground floor is a recommended Chinese restaurant that is open all year. The Metropole is a few minutes stroll from Whitby’s historic town centre, with lots of interesting things to see and visit along the way. The skyline of Whitby is dominated by The Metropole on the West side of the harbour and by the ruins of Whitby Abbey on the east side, the 199 church steps up to St Mary’s and the Abbey are a popular challenge for visitors to the town. Whitby Pavilion Spa and Theatre Complex are only a few hundred yards away, this now also has a blue ray cinema, just a few hundred yards in the other direction is Whitby Museum and Art Gallery in Pannett Park.

The beach is just across the road from the Metropole and can be reached by the cliff lift or by pathways that allow you to meander gently down the descent to the beach which stretches for a few scenic strolling miles between Whitby and Sandsend. Whitby hosts many events, Gothic week ends, 60′s week, 40′s week Folk Week, Lifeboat Day and Whitby Regatta to name but a few, just some of the reasons that make Whitby one of the UK’s leading seaside destinations and why visitors return every year.

Apartment A – Met Towers
Luxury 2nd floor apartment with sea views from three sides, featuring a sea facing balcony. The 2nd floor is accessible by stairs or lift. The accommodation comprises of one double bedroom with en suite shower/wet/steam room with disabled facilities and one twin bedroom with a family bathroom next door. All beds have electric controls and there are flat screen TVs in each bedroom. The lounge benefits from a 42” TV with most Sky channels available to all the TVs. Sorry pets are not allowed in this apartment and although No Smoking is allowed inside the apartment, visitors may smoke on the balcony.

Apartment B – Met Court
Excellent ground floor apartment which has recently been refitted to a very high standard including a new kitchen with all mod cons. The accommodation is split over two floors, with a stair lift connecting the two areas. The ground floor consists of a spacious lounge diner complete with widescreen Sky TV and a modern kitchen with a breakfast bar. The upper floor has a double bedroom featuring built-in wardrobes and a twin bedroom with an en suite shower room. There is also a large family bathroom with shower. This apartment benefits from a decking area right outside with a picnic table and benches, parking for this apartment is on an off road dedicated parking space next to the decking area. Small, well behaved pets are allowed in this apartment.

Apartment C – The Garret
Looking for peace and tranquillity with bird’s eye sea views too? This top floor apartment is for you! Overlooking Sandsend The Garret is the ideal base for your Whitby Holiday. The Garret has a comfortable lounge which is fully equipped with TV, DVD, VCR and CD players even board games for quiet nights in! This apartment has been awarded 4 star rating, it has one double bedroom – where you can enjoy breakfast in bed gazing out to sea and towards Sandsend, a modern bathroom with bath and a separate roomy shower, the well-equipped kitchen has all mod cons including cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and tumble dryer. sorry no pets or smoking are allowed in this apartment.
