10 Tasty Fish and Chips Choices in Pickering

While the amount of fresh fish caught by trawlers and landed in the coastal towns of North East England is just a tiny fraction of what it was years ago, that has not diminished the locals love for a fish and chip supper.

At one time, people loved eating fish and chips directly out of a wrapping using yesterday’s newspapers. No longer newspaper, health authorities have deemed but whatever the wrapping or container, fish and chips, sometimes mushy pies, salt and vinegar remains a huge favourite. If you are spending time in Pickering, here are some places where you can go to enjoy fish fried in batter with all the trimmings.

Cappelman’s also offers seafood specials; salmon, sea trout and halibut as well as marlin and swordfish when available but they are part of the restaurant menu rather than being available for takeaway.
