Whitby Fish & Ships Festival 2023

The Whitby Fish & Ships Festival is set to return on 20-21 May 2023, following a successful and highly-anticipated comeback in 2022.

Last year’s festival was a vibrant celebration of Whitby’s seafood and maritime heritage, and this year promises to be even more exciting!

The festival will take place on Dock End and Endeavour Wharf and will feature the Seafood Kitchen Marquee, where visitors can watch live cookery demonstrations. This year, the festival is thrilled to welcome 2022 Masterchef winner Eddie Scott, along with Simon Crannage from Yorkshire’s Grantley Hall, and local chefs such as Paul Gildroy from The Magpie, Phil Akrill from Raithwaite Hall, and Andrew Nightingale from Hawsker’s Hare & Hounds, all showcasing their culinary skills with a special focus on seafood.

Enjoy live music from renowned shanty singers such as Flash Jack, The Keelers, and the Doomfolk, as well as performances by local groups and school choirs. The music will take place at various venues including the music marquee, Whitby bandstand, The Endeavour ship, and Whitby Library. The music performances will run from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
