description

The La Rosa Hotel is a quirky boutique hotel on Whitby’s West Cliff. This hotel serves as a destination for romance, escapism, and fantasy.

Situated in an elegant period townhouse on Whitby's West Cliff, the hotel was once a favourite of Lewis Carroll and features one of the finest views in the country. Across the picturesque harbour lie the ruins of Whitby Abbey, which inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Each unique room has been lovingly designed and inspired by Whitby's rich heritage. The furnishings consist of thrift shop finds and carefully sourced antique kitsch, creating an ambience where fun and opulence are prioritised.

The Victorian tearoom offers homemade cakes and drinks and is available for private hire and the entire hotel—making it a perfect spot for family gatherings and celebrations.

Guests will not find TVs or telephones in the rooms, as La Rosa promotes a tranquil escape from everyday life. However, the Cocktail Library has an extensive collection of books, vintage records for those misty days, and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
