Deborah is the proud owner of Norman Guest House, where she and her dedicated team are committed to providing guests with a warm and welcoming experience throughout their stay. Each morning begins with a delightful continental breakfast to set a positive tone for the day.
Having spent most of her childhood in the charming villages of Grosmont, Glaisdale, and Staithes, Deborah feels fortunate to be part of this beautiful area. Her husband’s family has called Whitby home for generations, and they share a deep passion for the history surrounding them. They are always eager to share their knowledge about Whitby’s past and present, enhancing visitors’ experiences.
The property is on the West Cliff, in the heart of historic Whitby. This beautifully refurbished four-star Victorian guest house, originally built in 1892, underwent a complete renovation in 2020/2021. Each guest room has been individually decorated to ensure a high standard of comfort, complete with bespoke bathrooms.
High ceilings adorned with crystal chandeliers and an elegantly panelled hallway create an atmosphere of grandeur throughout the guest house. Guests will enjoy their mornings in the cosy breakfast room, warmed by a stunning stone fireplace and a wood-burning stove, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing continental breakfast.
Great pride is taken in their Whitby heritage, with hotel hallways lined with captivating local artwork that offers a glimpse into the area’s rich history.
