Looking for a stylish Whitby guest house with history, comfort and a West Cliff parking permit included?
Norman Guest House is a welcoming, owner-run bed-and-breakfast on Crescent Avenue. It's close to Whitby’s West Cliff and within easy reach of the town centre, harbour, shops, restaurants and local attractions.
Run by Deborah and her team, this four-star Victorian guest house was originally built in 1892 and fully refurbished in 2020/2021. Inside, the property retains plenty of its period charm, with high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, a panelled hallway, and a cosy breakfast room with a stone fireplace and a wood-burning stove.
Rooms are individually decorated and designed with comfort in mind. Accommodation includes twin, superior double, king-size, double, single and superior super-king options. Most rooms are en-suite, while Room Five is a non-en-suite single room with its own private bathroom on the first floor. Guests should check the room type before booking.
Room facilities include a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a hospitality tray, a mini fridge, a hairdryer, a fan, and USB ports. An iron and ironing board are available on request.
A continental breakfast is included and served in the breakfast room, giving guests a relaxed start before heading out to explore Whitby.
Norman Guest House is proud of its local roots
The hallways feature local artwork that offers a glimpse into Whitby’s history. Deborah and her team are also happy to share their knowledge of the town and surrounding area. They go above and beyond to help guests make the most of their stay.
Accessibility
Please note that Norman Guest House does not have a lift and is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. Some rooms are located on the upper floors, so guests should check room details carefully before booking.
Parking
One parking permit for West Cliff car park is supplied per room. Parking is offered free of charge but cannot always be guaranteed, especially during busy periods. A refundable deposit is required when collecting the permit, and guests should confirm current parking arrangements directly before travelling.
