Laurie Smithies
Laurie Smithies is a local landscape photographer based on the North Yorkshire Coast. Laurie has lived in this region all his life and takes inspiration from the beautiful local landscape. Laurie has always had an interest in the visual arts but it was only in 2012 that he bought his first DSLR camera and he has enjoyed a steady progression ever since.
Laurie will always try to find an original perception, an innovative angle, to exhibit what you wouldn’t normally see; this makes his work fresh and unique. Laurie and his partner Jemma run The North Yorkshire Gallery on Church Street in Whitby.
