SCRAVIR III – Possession
£10.99
SCRAVIR III – Possession follows the by now familiar pattern, while the unresolved conflict persists: is C.M.Vassie’s first Scravir book – While Whitby Sleeps – simply fiction, a calculated hoax, or a chilling documentation of the emergence of skeletally thin cadavers in the town during Goth Weekend in the autumn of 2016? This ambiguity is central, fueling tension and doubt among characters and readers alike.
The second book, SCRAVIR II – Lacklight, centers on Daniel Murray’s struggle to define the true nature of the ‘gift’ given to him by Thor Lupei. The main conflict is Daniel’s ethical and existential dilemma: should he use his newfound ability to manipulate, add to, or remove parts of others’ bodies by touch, or should he resist its dark possibilities? Europol’s concerns amplify his struggle, while he uncovers the reality that Gothic is more than a culture—it is a living language, raising the question: how far back do the Scravir’s roots grow?
This third book irresponsibly prolongs the central conflict: fact or fiction? Are the bodies, autopsies, and growing unpleasantness evidence of a real horror, or another layer of the Scravir myth? Amidst hapless ‘heroes’ making disastrous decisions and a festering maze beneath a castle, the narrative delves into the historical foundations of the Scravir. Here, the main conflict emerges—can Daniel assert control and master what he encounters in the labyrinth, or will the ancient powers of the castle determine his fate?

Fantastic third installment. I’ve really enjoyed all the books in this series and this was no exception as it moved from Whitby to Romania and answered more questions about Daniel. Would highly recommend this to anyone who loves vampire stories.
