Photographers spent the weekend capturing some of the best looks, including Victorian-inspired gowns, classic gothic dress, Steampunk outfits, Cybergoth styles, corsets, lace, top hats, bold make-up, and detailed accessories.

A dramatic weekend on the Yorkshire coast

Since it began in 1994, Whitby Goth Weekend has grown into one of the world’s best-known gothic culture events, attracting visitors from across the UK and beyond.

The town’s long association with Bram Stoker’s Dracula continues to play a major part in its appeal. With Whitby Abbey, the 199 Steps, the old town and the moody North Sea coastline all close by, the setting remains one of the most atmospheric places for an event of this kind.

For many attendees, Whitby Goth Weekend is about far more than clothing. It is a celebration of creativity, community and individuality, with visitors turning the town into an open-air showcase of style.
