The diverse menu here features classic seafood dishes, vegan alternatives, and well-loved breakfast options. Every dish is perfectly prepared, from Lindisfarne oysters to tomato and chilli muscles, smoked salmon chowder, scallops, and lobster thermidor.

The chowder is outstanding, with Haddock chunks, prawns, and smoked salmon in a creamy sauce. We also shared a hot seafood platter, which included a generous spread of langoustines, crevettes, mussels, tiger prawns, salt-and-pepper squid, white bait, and scampi. The seafood was pan-fried in garlic butter and served with a bowl of chips, harissa mayo, and tartare sauce.

The restaurant also has a fully stocked bar, perfect for those who want to make a night of it. The views from the restaurant are beautiful, and the excellent reviews it has received speak for themselves.

We recently had the most delicious fish and chips at this restaurant. The fish was fresh and sizeable, and the chips were just amazing. We also loved the curry sauce. The friendly staff made the experience even more enjoyable.

We love the Lounge Eggs with spinach and mushrooms. This dish features two poached eggs served with hollandaise sauce on a toasted English muffin and a healthy serving of spinach and mushrooms. It’s a delicious and satisfying meal that’s perfect for any time of day.

Marisco Lounge’s menus reflect its personality. It takes food seriously and uses only the freshest ingredients to create unique and indulgent dishes.

We visited the restaurant with three adults and our dog. The staff is lovely, and we were greeted warmly. The atmosphere was very relaxing. We all ordered fish and chips, haddock, or cod. The service was exceptional, and when the food arrived, we were impressed with the generous portions. Our meals were perfectly cooked, and we overheard other diners expressing their satisfaction as well.

The Harbour Bar, perfect for dessert!

A visit to Scarborough is complete with trying the lemon top ice cream, which is the best out there!

The Harbour Bar.

Since August 1945, the business has gained worldwide recognition for its retro and 1950s milk bar style, which has remained unchanged over the decades, establishing itself as a Scarborough icon.

The Alonzi family has been crafting ice cream since the beginning of the last century when they migrated from the south of Rome to Scarborough. They initially opened a small bar with a fleet of ice cream barrows and stalls on the beach. During the August Bank Holiday in 1945, the family sold out all their ice cream and coffee stock within two hours, earning £48.

During the rationing era, their milk was sourced from the black market. The Harbour Bar is busier than ever, with “camp” coffee (coffee and condensed milk imported during the post-war period) on the menu alongside their traditional knickerbocker glory.

The Harbour Bar offers ice cream-inspired treats like banana splits, ice cream floats, sundaes, vegan sorbets, sandwiches, and snacks.

Before our visit, we debated whether the Knickerbocker Glories would be as large as they were when we were children or simply because we were small. They are now even bigger and utterly fantastic, with a more extensive range of flavours available.
