I love that you can see Whitby Abbey in the distance as you approach from the North York Moors. The way it looks over the town and the North Sea is so beautiful.

Walking around Whitby Abbey is like stepping into a gothic novel. It's no wonder Bram Stoker chose this spot as Dracula's landing place.
Climb the 199 steps to reach it, and you'll be rewarded with panoramic views that will take your breath away.

You haven't lived until you've tasted Whitby's fish and chips. Freshly caught from the North Sea, the fish is cooked to crispy perfection and paired with golden, crunchy chips.

My favourites are The Whitby Bookshop, the town's literary escape and Justins for the best chocolate. I always pick some up as a gift, and my child loves to see the fossils for sale at Natural Wonders or visit Whitby Glass for a lucky duck.

Twice a year, this seaside town transforms into a gothic wonderland. Expect elaborate costumes and a fun atmosphere that's both eerie and electric.
It's a celebration of all things gothic, and I love visiting the town and immersing myself in this event.

Whitby offers breathtaking coastal walks for those who love to pack their walking boots and explore the great outdoors. The Cleveland Way National Trail is a must-do, with cliffs and sea views.
