We could not be more thrilled to announce that Tide by Trenchers is now open in Whitby! Tide by Trenchers is the latest venture by the renowned Trenchers restaurant, known for its commitment to serving high-quality, locally sourced seafood. This new addition to Whitby's restaurant scene is already making waves, as it is perfect for any occasion, from a casual lunch with family to a romantic evening meal.

Located on Bridge Street, just across the harbour, it's a great spot to stop by if you are exploring Whitby. The interior is beautiful, the staff are welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. They have vegan, gluten-free, and children's menu options.

On the lunch menu, we adored the salt and pepper squid in chilli with sriracha mayonnaise to start. The seafood platter was exceptional to share, with oyster mignonette, smoked salmon, Greenland prawns, marie rose, shell-on prawns, mussels, fish goujons, aioli and sourdough with butter.
A few of our favourite options on the dinner menu are the pan-roasted halibut loin with brown shrimp in garlic butter, burnt lemon, and skin-on fries. We also loved the pan-roasted chicken breast with savoy cabbage, bacon, wild mushrooms, red wine jus, and mashed potato.
There's a range of gorgeous starters and desserts (Sticky toffee pudding has our name all over it!) And, of course, you can pop in for Trencher's famous haddock or cod with chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce, lemon and a side of bread and butter! If you're on the go they even have a take away, which offers all your fish & chips favourites.
