Established in 1865, Botham's of Whitby is a family-run bakery and confectioner with five local shops and three Tea Rooms across Whitby, Sleights, and Pickering. Famous for their Whitby Lemon Buns. They are an authentic taste of the coast!

The Enterprise Way Tea Room, situated in Whitby's Business Park, combines that rich tradition with a fresh, stylish new look, making it the perfect place to relax, indulge, and enjoy something truly special.
A taste of Yorkshire, fresh from the bakehouse
From your morning coffee and croissant to a leisurely brunch, hearty lunch, or traditional Afternoon Tea, the new menu is a celebration of Botham’s baking roots.
Everything is made fresh daily at the on-site bakehouse – meaning the bread for your Afternoon Tea sandwiches or the croissant in your Continental breakfast might still be warm from the oven!
There’s something for everyone, including a delightful children’s menu, all crafted with the care, quality, and tradition that have made Botham’s a Yorkshire favourite for generations.
And right next door, you’ll find the Enterprise Way Bakery Shop – so you can take home your favourite freshly baked loaves, cakes, and sweet treats after you dine.
Plenty of space
With seating for up to 72 guests, the Enterprise Way Tea Room offers both intimate nooks and space for larger parties. Settle into elegant lounge seating or enjoy a scenic view towards Hawsker fields from the cosy window booths.
Accessibility has been thoughtfully planned. There is ample parking, designated disability spaces, level access throughout, and accessible restrooms to welcome everyone with ease.

This site has been a labour of love since development began in January 2022. While the Tea Room and Shop are now open, there's still more in store – including outdoor seating and a family-friendly play area.

Lois Borrett, Director and great-great-granddaughter of Elizabeth Botham, shares:
“We're really excited to announce the opening of our new Tea Room on Enterprise Way, almost completing the site which has been in development since 2022. We've been overwhelmed by the support from customers near and far – it has been a pleasure welcoming you into this beautiful, new space – and we've had amazing feedback to date. We would like to say a special thank-you to our fabulous Tea Room staff, old and new, who have shown unwavering dedication to the business and contributed greatly to a successful opening. After a very busy first week, it is safe to say we have found our feet!”
She adds:
