Located in beautiful Pannett Park, the Pannett Art Gallery is located right next to the Whitby Museum. This art gallery is home to two truly unique collections and exhibitions. The Staithes Group Room offers a permanent display of work done by impressionist painters of the early 20th century. Many different types of artwork can be found in this gallery, including various arts and crafts, fine furnishings, and breathtaking handmade tapestries. There is no charge for admission. 2. The Studio of John Freeman
If you want a truly memorable artistic experience with a historical bent, the Studio of John Freeman in Whitby has exactly what you need. This art gallery is home to the largest collection of local works of art in the entire Whitby area, including limited editions, watercolours, and a variety of beautiful prints. You will discover that many of the art pieces that are housed in this gallery were inspired by the local geography, and there are also a variety of special laser-cut wooden jigsaws that you won’t soon forget. The North Yorkshire Gallery are a family-run business. Photographer Laurie Smithies takes all the photos that feature on their wall art and gifts. His passion is for landscape photography, and he has gained a reputation as one of England’s best landscape photographers. Their gallery features pictures and canvases of some of the most stunning locations and landmarks in North Yorkshire, such as the magical Roseberry Topping and the famed Whitby Abbey.
