Rose Rylands is a locally born storyteller who shares an intimate knowledge of the coast and surroundings, along with local folklore, history, mysteries and legends. She runs a variety of guided walks, including Guided Walking Tours of Whitby and Ghost walks in Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby.

Guided Walking Tours of Whitby

The Whitby Ghost Walk
By private booking only. Starting at the top of the 199 Steps and taking in St Mary’s church graveyard then descending to the old pier, yards and alleyways of the old town. Whitby, a town perched between two supernatural thresholds – the moors and the sea. The Whitby Ghost Walk is rich with extraordinary history, stories of the magical and mysterious, of shipwrecks, sailors, superstitions and the supernatural, of wild adventure and impossible facts about this most ancient place.
